December 2011 Newsletter

 

The 3rd degree was a great success.  We now have 3 new master masons in our lodge.  The degree was held on October 27th and 4 brothers were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason.  There were three for Cabarrus and one for Union Lodge. 
As a note from the Secretary; WB Ted Joyner, he would like to advise that all that received the letter concerning the dues for 2012 there was a mistake in the letter.  It states that the 2012 dues are past due.  This should have read that the 2012 dues are now due.  He is sorry for the confusion. 
Last month the officers for 2012 have been selected.  Bro. Greg Furr will be your Master for 2012. Bro. Mathew Paris will be the SW; Bro. Andrew Downs will be the JW, WB Ted Joyner the Secretary and WB Phil Hudson the Treasurer.  Bro James Barrow will be the SD and WB Troy Faggart the Tyler.  Greg is still looking for someone to be the Junior Deacon and Chaplin at this time.  If you are interested in assisting your brothers please let him know. 
Brothers, my time is near to the end and I want to again thank you for the opportunity to serve you and the lodge.  This has been an amazing year for me and the lodge.  We have shown that the lodge and do great things when we all work together.  We have had a good year in our degree work.  We initiated, passed and raised a number of brothers throughout the year.  There was no month that we did not have degree work.  What a truly amazing year.  The degree work is where it brings it all together.  It is the time for each and every one of us to come together and refresh ourselves in Masonry.  I highly encourage you to take the time to participate in the degree work if not only in attendance.  That is where the true meaning of Masonry is taught and learned.  Your attendance of course is also encouraged in the stated communications. 
Brothers, we also were able to contribute a sufficient amount of funds to both of the charities that we selected this year, the Oxford Orphanage and White Stone Retirement Home.  Hopefully 2012 will be a good again for the charities the lodge selected to support.  Remember our mission is for the good of our brothers and their families as well as the community.  Your support of the efforts for the 2012 fund raisers will again be greatly appreciated and welcomed by the new master and his officers.  Let’s make it another great year for Cabarrus 720 in the service of mankind and masonry. 
As this is my last newsletter I must say good-bye.  I will be there for the brothers and the lodge to assist in what I can.  Again thanks for the experience of growing and learning more about the art than you can imagine.
